Sign-off that was read over the air at the end of Zeus’ final shift.

“Zeus as you sign off for the last time I want to express not only the gratitude of the department, but of our entire community.

From September 2015 to October 2022 you have been there to keep us all safe.

During those seven long years, you worked hard and trained relentlessly. Putting in almost 2900 hours of training and being deployed over 1500 times. In that time you  also captured just shy of 400 suspects.

Additionally, you helped educate the citizens of Spokane by giving over 100 demonstrations.

No matter what you faced, including dangerous swat call outs, and even being shot at, you bravely continued on protecting your handler, your officers, and your community.

We thank you for your service and wish you a retirement filled with scratches, treats, and adventures. You leave a big harness to be filled and paw prints on all of our hearts.

We’ll take the watch from here.”
